With the Alabama football team conducting its final preseason scrimmage today and the season-opener against Virginia Tech a mere 14 days away, basketball isn't exactly a hot topic of conversation in Tuscaloosa right now.
Nonetheless, basketball managed to squeeze on stage for a brief moment Saturday thanks to the release of its 2009-2010 schedule.
After two exhibition contests, the Crimson Tide will open the season Nov. 14 at home vs. Cornell and wrap up its regular season March 6 at home against rival Auburn.
One particular home game of note this year is a visit from Florida on Feb. 4. First-year Tide head coach Anthony Grant was a longtime assistant at Florida, helping build the Gators into a national power just a few years ago.
