The Alabama softball team scored eight times on seven hits en route to an 8-1 victory over UAB on Wednesday night at the Alabama Softball Complex.
The Crimson Tide (14-1) scored three times in the first and four times in the fifth against Lindsey Croft, who took the loss for UAB (6-9). Amanda Locke worked 4 2/3 innings for Alabama to pick up the win, with Kelsi Dunne pitching the final 2 1/3 for her first save of the season.

Alabama stole seven bases in the game, including two each by Kelley Montalvo and Jazlyn Lunceford, who also knocked home two runs. Freshman left fielder Jennifer Fenton added her first career home run.

Alabama is back in action at 6 p.m. Friday at home against Washington in the SEC/Pac-10/Big 12 challenge. The game will be a rare match-up of No. 1 teams, as the Crimson Tide tops the USA Today/USFA rankings, while the Huskies are atop the ESPN/USA Softball poll.
