Alabama broke into the Top 10 in the national football rankings on Sunday, checking in at No. 9 in the Associated Press media poll.
The Crimson Tide (3-0) was ranked No. 11 a week ago, but leapt over Auburn after the Tigers beat Mississippi State only 3-2 on Saturday. Auburn (3-0) dropped from No. 9 to No. 10.
The rest of the Top 10 remained the same, with the exception of Ohio State. The Buckeyes (2-1) fell all the way to No. 13 after getting pummeled 35-3 by No. 1 Southern Cal on Saturday.
There was also a slight shakeup in the Top 5, with Oklahoma leapfrogging Georgia into second position. Both teams are 3-0, but Georgia struggled to beat South Carolina 14-7 on Saturday.
Also from the SEC, Florida remained No. 4 while LSU stayed at No. 6. The five SEC teams in the Top 10 are the only ones ranked in the Top 25.
In the USA Today coaches' poll, Alabama jumped from No. 16 to No. 13. The Crimson Tide beat Western Kentucky 41-7 on Saturday, and travels to Arkansas this week.
