Saban Lands a TE from LA

On Monday Nick Saban made a few visits around the south.  While Saban was out and about he got word that he netted an ESPN 150 defensive end.  Tim Williams from Baton Rouge (La.) was looking at Florida State, Miami and LSU and had plans to visit all three, but after a weekend at The University of Alabama the 6’4”, 230 pound four-star decided that he wanted to wear the crimson. Williams ranks as the nation's ...

McCarron’s Status

There is no doubt about it, Junior Quarterback A.J. McCarron had an impressive regular and post season that saw him post one of the best quarterback ratings in the nation.  He is the only quarterback to win two National Championships and be a part of three BCS Champioship teams.  Since back up to Greg McElroy in the 2010 season McCarron has improved each season.  Sure he has had a couple of slumps during a ...

Thrashing in Miami to win the BCS Title

That would just be one word the describe the beat down that Alabama gave the Leprechaun's of Notre Dame at the BCS Championship Game this evening.  A few others may consist of; Domination, dismantling, beating, whipping, flogging...the list could go on.  At one point I started getting text messages that they actually felt sorry for Notre Dame.  Alabama must have also because it looked like they took their f ...

BCS Orange Bowl Atmosphere

There is no doubt about it, the Irish have invaded for this classic match-up!  I wouldn't be surprised if Pope Benedict XVI shows up for the game.  The fans are everywhere and are very loud.  When Saban walked out onto the field to do his pre-game walk the Irish fans started chanting "Let's Go Irish".  Alabama fans have (from appearances) shown class and respects the tradition.  But they are letting you kno ...

Running Game Key

49-0!  That’s the record since 2008 that Alabama has with rushing for more than 150 yards.  However, the Tide is 11-7 when less than that.  So in all of the talk with the A.J. McCarron and Notre Dame’s Golson being the “X-Factors” in the game.  The real question is how will the “Dynamic Duo” and the “Elite” offensive line do?  Nick Saban team’s simply do not lose when the running game clicks. D.J. Fluker ca ...

Coop, One of Those Freakish Freshman

When Amari Cooper showed up on campus last winter to enroll in classes and go through spring camp some thought that he would be a pretty good receiver in time being the 4th ranked receiver coming out of high school.  But, I would expect most didn't see him contributing as much as he has this year and especially at the end of the season to become one of the top receivers in the SEC.  What set his early contr ...
