Friday practice report
The Alabama Crimson Tide returned to the practice field on Friday to continue its preparations for the 2012 season. The Tide was forced to practice inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility due to the threat of inclement weather.
During the brief media observation period, there were no players wearing black, no-contact jerseys. Adrian Hubbard, who has been dealing with an elbow sprain, did not have his arm in a supportive brace on Friday. Instead, Hubbard merely had his elbow wrapped.
Kenny Bell, who according to Alabama head coach Nick Saban is dealing with some a few nagging injuries, appeared to have his right knee taped rather heavily. While it is unclear if Bell’s injury is to his knee, after Coach Saban’s comments yesterday about Bell’s injuries, it was worth noting.
Freshman wide receiver Amari Cooper was not present at Friday’s practice. It was not made known whether or not the freshman wideout was absent for an excused reason, but he was not with the wide receivers during the media observation period.
Freshman offensive lineman Brandon Greene worked at left tackle during drills, and received extended one-on-one coaching from offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.
The Crimson Tide will hold its final scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. After the scrimmage, the Tide will have a surely welcomed two-day break before returning to the practice field on Tuesday.
