Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron named to Davey O’Brien watch list
The Alabama Crimson Tide football team had yet another player named to a preseason watch list on Wednesday. 
The Davey O’Brien Foundation announced its 2012 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List, and the Tide’s A.J. McCarron found his name on the list of college football’s 34-best quarterbacks.
McCarron enters the 2012 season after leading the Crimson Tide to a national championship in his first season as the starter. The junior signal caller was 219-for-328 in 2011 with a completion percentage of 66.8.
The watch list will be narrowed down to 16 finals on Monday, October 22. Then, on Monday, November 19 the Davey O’Brien Foundation will name three finalists with the winner to be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, December 6.
