Alabama picks up QB commitment

The Crimson Tide picked up yet another commitment for its 2013 recruiting class. This one came less than 24 hours after its most recent commitment, Maurice Smith.

Parker McLeod, a quarterback from Walton High School in Georgia, committed to play for head coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide. McLeod is now the Tide’s second quarterback in the 2013 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder is known primarily as a pocket passer. He’s tall and lanky and should fill out over the next few years, but what he adds to the Crimson Tide’s recruiting class cannot be understated.

When Phillip Sims transferred to the University of Virginia, it was evident that the Tide would need to take two quarterbacks in this class. Whether or not Alabama is considering any other quarterback prospects remains to be seen, but for now, Alabama has two very solid prospects committed to play football.

McLeod chose Alabama over offers from Oklahoma State, Maryland, Boston College and Syracuse. Last season, McLeod threw for 18 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
