Alabama men’s golf team advances to NCAA Finals
The Alabama men’s golf team has a chance to do what the women’s team did just over a week ago — win a championship.
The Crimson Tide defeated California 3-2 in semifinal match at the NCAA Championships play to advance to Sunday’s national championship competition.
The Tide knocked off California with a great performance by senior Hunter Hamrick on the final few holes to punch its ticket into the finals of the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships.
The Tide will face the Texas Longhorns beginning at 12 p.m. at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., on Sunday.
The Tide had three golfers win their matches during the semifinal with California on Saturday. Cory Whitsett defeated Brandon Hagy, Scott Strohmeyer defeated Pace Johnson and Hunter Hamrick defeated Joel Stalter.
Tomorrow’s championship will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
